The Chief Justice has approved the revision of the mediation fee schedule issued on 9th October 2020 in accordance with paragraph 10 of Practice Direction No. 6 of 2020 – Court-Connected Mediation (Re-Issue). The Revised Mediation Fees for the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (Re - Issue) and Explanatory Note was published in the BVI Gazette Issue No. 108 on 31st August 2023.

The Chief Justice has extended the deadline for comments from the members of the Eastern Caribbean Bar Associations in respect of the draft Supreme Court Bail Rules, 2023 which are intended to replace Part 58 (Bail Applications) of the Civil Procedure Rules. A copy of the proposed draft rules is attached to this newsletter. Our members are encouraged to submit any comments by email to Stephen.corrington@eccourts.org ahead of the deadline on Friday 18 August, 2023.

The Chief Justice has sought comments from the members of the Eastern Caribbean Bar Associations in respect of the Supreme Court Bail Rules, 2023, which are intended to replace Part 58 (Bail Applications) of the Civil Procedure Rules. Those rules accompany this newsletter in draft form, and any comments may be shared by email to Stephen.corrington@eccourts.
